Hummelstown is a borough in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,360 at the time of the 2010 census. It is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town is located in south-central Pennsylvania, just north of Hershey and west of Harrisburg.
Hummelstown was first settled by Swiss and German immigrants in 1762 and was originally known as Middletown. In 1800, it was officially renamed Hummelstown in honor of John Hummel, who built the first tavern in town. Today, Hummelstown is a thriving community with a rich history and a bright future. Lehman’s is one of only two stores in the country that sell Amish-made goods (the other store is located in Ohio).
