Attorney P. Daniel Altland concentrates his practice in municipal law, education law, real estate, small business representation, estate planning and civil litigation. He has represented public schools on many issues including building construction, tax assessment and collection, insurance coverage, bidding and vendor contracts and liability under the Political Subdivision Tort Claims Act and under federal civil rights laws.  Mr. Altland's practice regularly involves alternative dispute resolution, representing clients and also serving as a mediator or arbitrator.


Mr. Altland is a graduate of Shippensburg University and The Dickinson School of Law.  He practiced law for 27 years prior to joining Caldwell & Kearns as a shareholder in 2004.  He is admitted to practice before Pennsylvania courts, the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of the U.S. District Courts of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.


Mr. Altland is the solicitor for Susquehanna Township School District, Susquenita School District, Marysville Borough, Arendtsville Borough, Littlestown Area School District, Newberry Township Municipal Authority, Lewisberry Area Joint Authority and the West Hanover Township Zoning Hearing Board.


In addition to the Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, Mr. Altland is a member of the National School Board Association Council of School Attorneys and The Pennsylvania School Board Solicitors Association.
